The problem with AI is that once everyone's out of a job, nobody can buy what the companies are selling.

But until we get to that stage, every company will do the layoffs because it boosts this quarter's and this year's profits.

So if a CEO doesn't replace people with AI that company will fall to competitors and those workers will lose their jobs anyway.

We're screwed.

Came back to work today and found out they got rid of most of our office workers, replaced by AI. These are the people with the university degrees making good money.

Then Im reading just now, Microsoft just laid off 11,000 more office workers to START. More lay offs to come and they'll be done in phases.

If you work in front of a computer, better start learning how to use a mop or shovel or learn how to suck dick

Reading cyberpunk its exactly the future we know get. Super powerful mega corporations like Apple, MS, Tencent...etc taking over dominating first smaller countries via technology and in the end will take over US..etc It has happened in a lot of ways how tech coprs took over democrats.

Its frightening because its the end of any democracy / republic if no one acts against it. Way fewer jobs via technology ending in a few companies taking over everything while 99% of population lives in poverty and slavery.

The technology is advancing at a very rapid pace and becoming way more convincing. I dont like it myself, but its bound to take over.

So my company is working on implementing AI agents, but the managers working on the project even admit they have to keep some people on the team to handle escalations and the people who insist on emailing or calling. Especially for the CX people who handle our business clients. The last at thing were going to do is dump one of our big accounts on chatbots to handle their issues. It's a great way to piss them off and have them take their business elsewhere.
