While Max is the best FW...he has a lot to do before "cleaning" out the division

While he is on quite an impressive win streak, most of the his top wins were against top FWs from the "Aldo" era and some werent even champ challengers, not so much the new group of great FWs

Aldo, Pettis, Lamasm Stephens, Swanson - great wins, but theyre the previous FW generation

He still has not fought Mendes or Edgar, two staples of the FW division. He has not cleared those out unless you use his win over Aldo as MMA math because Aldo beat them

I was actually hoping Max would win to get either a Holloway vs Moicano or Edgar matchup

Then you have the other FW contenders, Zabit, Mendes vs Volkanowski winner, Bektic...maybe Michael Johnson if he beats Aldo and goes on a streak

He also still has not beaten Russian Goat Hammer Artem or Wizard Ryan Hall

But if he ever goes to LW, you have some really exciting matches there in Fergy, rematches vs McGregor or Pourier and a champ vs champ with Khabib

I hope he stays healthy, lots of great fights for him

yeah he's not anywhere close to cleaning out FW but if he wants a mauling fro Khabib let's see it after Khabib/Tony and Max/Moicano.

Agreed lots of great fights remaining for Max no doubt some up and comers that could challenge but I think those contenders are 1 or 2 years away from being top 5. They themselves need to beat down the old guard to get their shot.

I would really like to see him fight Edgar.

Then, probably unlikely, rematch Conor.

Those 2 wins would really carry his legacy a long way. But we'll see the UFC loves to get fighters out of their division now, it's the new norm. I think it's stupid when Champs haven't really earned that passage.
