DC was at Heavyweight 2009-2013 and 2019-2020 !

For me, his HW prime was in 2019 : best skills ( boxing and dirty boxing, ), stronger ( low kick and punch was harder than ever ) and best chin !
Even if he lose against Stipe, he landed 317 shots in 4 rounds ( record for HW ) and punch 162 significatif strikes on the Miocic Head !

He was more athletic at LHW, but not the same punch and durability !

Which year you considered DC was at prime ?

His performances at Strikeforce against the Heavyweights were mighty impressive and he looked like a legit HW built like a stocky tank instead of a dadbod.

mjfan23 and Hwoareng : I am agreed with you DC was at his potential prime, problem, he was at LHW, Maybe if he was at HW at his time he would be at his absolute prime !
Problem at Strikeforce, his optimal weight was around 238 lbs ! In 2019, his optimal weight was 246 lbs and he was stronger and punch harder !

Yeah I'd tend to agree, I feel like Jones is the only fighter who could have beaten DC at that time.

I think he was at his physical best in the bigfoot and Barnett fights. But his mma skills continue to improve.

So it's hard to say. Maybe Hendo- Jones 2?

Problem he was at LHW ! I am agreed at LHW he was more athletic, but not as strong as HW ! He puncher harder at HW by far ! Maybe he would be at his absolute prime if he was at HW between 2015 and 2017 ( Jones 1 and 2 )

If he was in his (imaginary and subjective) ‘prime’ when he fought jones, it sucks that he cut all that wait and willingly made himself worse to fight at a weight he wasn’t his best at

By that logic he never had a physical prime, he stole it from himself

Easily a better fighter at HW

Probably just before he moved down to LHW. I always felt he was his best version at HW and moved back up a after his prime.

My feeling is he was at his best in 2019 against Stipe, but he was potential at his best at LHW, maybe against Jon Jones, but weight cutting was terrible for him, and his prime wasn't optimal
