Nick Diaz defeats Georges St. Pierre via TKO in the first round or Chael Sonnen defeats Jon Jones via submission in the first round Which would be the greater upset and how would you react to either?
I would persnoally be more surprised with Diaz TKO'ing GSP in the first, but objectively Sonnen winning is the bigger upset. (Actually, I think if Sonnen beats Jones, it's by sub :\)
Sonnen/Jones, and it's not even close. Diaz, one of the best welterweights ever, knocking out a guy that's been knocked out before in the first round is a lot more likely than an unranked lhw washout submitting the lhw GOAT.
A Chael sub would be a greater upset. If Diaz has any chance it would be in the later rounds. My reaction to either would be
Based on GSP's last few fights and seeing how his approach changed once Condit landed the head kick, it will be incredibly difficult for GSP to get TKO'd by Diaz. Still don't see Jones losing, but I think he is more likely to make a mistake than GSP is.
sonnen for sure. diaz will have a good fight with gsp , probably losing by ud or may be getting lucky winning the fight . diaz has lots of ways to win ... he is a great bjj and boxer. sonnen is a huge underdog . shouldnt even make it past 1st round. it will be huge if he wins
Chael beating Jones, and it's not even close. I think there are people out there who adamantly believe Diaz can win, no such thing with Chael.
