I will be doing muay Thai boxing and all kinds of kicks. I am also 14 years old 140 pounds 5 feet 8-10 inches. How heavy of a punching bag should I get also what are some good punching bag brands/models

It depends on your price range and budget. A 6 foot/100lbs. Muay Thai style bag should fit your needs. Everyone seems to really like the KO Fightgear bags, and both Title MMA and Combat Sports International offer 6 foot Muay Thai bags in the $100.00 price range. I hope this helps.

I like the ringside powerhide muay thai bag, it has a 3 inch foam liner so it will be softer than most. I also like the bob bag xl (the man looks like he's wearing boxing trunks), so you can do leg kicks or knees to groin area. I also like a small youth bag that weights 25 pounds, you can really work those without getting sore elbows/knuckles. good luck,,, martial arts is a life long journey, so its ok to get good gear.

if your training muay thai i guess a mauy thai bag would be good for you because boxing bags are fatter and shorter so high kicks may be harder to execute

Wouldn't it be harder to execute low kicks? It should be fine for high kicks IMO.

I have the Fairtex HB6 6 foot banana bag. Mine is probably around 150lbs though, as I filled it myself, and used the stuffing from my old bag (which was 100 - 110lbs) plus I added 1 and a half x 12kg bags of filling (equates to around 40lbs). The bag is awesome, absolutely nothing bad about it. Fairtex stuff is always top notch...if you want some good Muay Thai gloves you should look into Fairtex, MTG or Twins. There are other good brands as well, but those 3 are probably the most well known.
