Well, it's Fayetteville, so that's not surprising in the slightest. For those unfamiliar with Fayetteville, locals commonly call it Fayetnam. This place totally sucks.

"One suspect is described as a black man in his 20s who is about 5 feet 7 inches tall with a thin build. Authorities said the man has used the name Bobby Boulders on more than one occasion."

I dont think it would be that hard to set a sting operation on this guy. Just have some plain clothes police officers purchase an item from him on craigslist and then when you agree to meet him, if he tries to give you a box of rocks then you have him in the deed.

Similar things happen on Gum Tree over here in the UK. Last year, a guy who was legitimately trying to sell his lap top ended up getting killed by a scammer:
