smaller = better
They should have stuck with the idea of alligators and plexiglass, that would have been fun
i dont like the white color
Larger is better hard for the Lay n Prey
I hate the all black color palette of the ufc but thats the only color americans knows.
...said no woman, ever.
I prefer the circular cage.
I prefer the white colored cage but the black might be less distracting. I've never been to a live event so I don't know how they compare.
Its harder to win by Lay n' pray, hugging, cornering and walking down your opponent.
black or blue is the best and easiest on the eyes.
The dream cage is the best MMA environment ever IMO - and was coupled with almost the perfect rules at Dream 12 (only supassed by One Championship currently and Pride)
-easy to see through
-"netting" with a bit of give, rather than harder fence so it was more difficult to get a takedown against it (you could move your hips more against it) or get up using it
-6 sided so strikers could still work angles and corner a bit more
-smaller so the action was more freqent, less running
I cant remember exactly, but the fighters said it was the best surface they'd ever fought on
And there was no LnP because it was a decent scoring system with a good criteria and it didn't reward the bullshit (position+run the clock) we see in Unified MMA - judges actually JUDGED, not added up scorecards with no real analysis or consideration/context of the entire fight.
If every MMA bout was in the dream cage/with OneFC or Pride rules/judging it would be glorious
Honestly, I don't like the octagon because of its large obtuse angles. It allows fighters to disengage/circle away with substantial less risk of getting trapped, and as somebody else stated is more suited to lay'n'pray IMO.
If anything I would prefer a square cage as it would put more emphasis on proper footwork and allow fighters to cut off their opponents easier/engage in more action. The UFC did do a little good though by making the cage smaller in some recent fights.
So that said, I like the Dream cage better than the octagon. Ideally though a Pride ring with a cage fence would be best. Too bad it will never happen cause of how iconic "the octagon" has become with the UFC.
I know its not in the thread but for me i really like bellator cage. KSW is using same right now.
I miss those HD Net Dream shows.
