Paulo Borrachinha bench press 4 plates for reps before his daily 6 hours of MMA training
Haha i was suprised myself.
BT: Awesome. Hey, my friend the president of www.criticalbench.com Mike Westerdal and I made a bet. He thinks that Ken Shamrock has benched a little over 500 (525) in his prime and I think his bench press max was in the late 400s (475) and that he just missed 500. Do you know what Ken's best bench was?
Frank Shamrock: Well Ken was way up in the 400s during his prime. He never hit 500. I believe his best bench was 475.
MMA fighters should pump those numbers up, those are rookie numbers. An average sherdogger benches 550 pounds
Bench - 640lbs
Squat - 840lbs
DL - 915lbs
Oohhhh, entirely my bad then.
Thought you meant you were competing in MMA.
Shawn Jordan. We're unlikely to ever see anyone as strong as this guy reach the UFC level again, or at least not for a long, long time:
Keep in mind that is also a weight room record for a team sport at college. That means he likely achieved this without any heavy gear like a triple-ply bench shirt the powerlifters in certain orgs wear. There's a good chance it was raw which would make it one of the best bench presses in history by anyone. Maybe they allowed single ply, and they probably allowed wrist wraps. Furthermore, the NCAA has more stringent testing than many sporting organizations, so it's also possible he was clean, but he almost certainly wasn't:
The USPCA record drug-tested, raw bench press ever achieved was 623 pounds by Pedro Mejias earlier this year:
Powerlifting Watch tracks multiple orgs.
The raw Bench Press WR (not drug tested):
SHW 738 Kirill Sarychev Russia 11/22/15 WRPF
The raw Bench Press WR (drug tested):
SHW 710 James Henderson USA 1997 USPF
All of these men are SHW powerlifters in the 308+ lbs category.
Gonna be tough to top Pudz outside the UFC.
Jesus. This must've been Vince's jerk off material.
Thais dont lift and they kick harder than anyone really
Surely Artem with his T-Rex arms could achieve a wicked arch and take records in bench for bodyweight to lift ratio.
bench press: 275 KG (620 lbs)
squat: 360 KG (811 lbs)
deadlift: 395 KG (890 lbs)
I think it's safe to say that the multiple time world strongest man is the answer to this thread.
Pudzianowski is the obvious answer but a few notable mentions...
Oli Thompson, former Britian's strongest man,Alex Simon former Australian Powerlifting champion (400kg deadlift, 260kg bench, 436kg squat) now an mma fighter and Bob Sapp was probably quite strong in his prime
The Wendler is strong with this one
