Gunna say silva..but different mindset going in so im biased . Vitors been done for years, machida on a decline. At the time , Silva fights had an aura to them, nobody knew what would happen. Vitor was supposed to be a huge challenge to silva standing. He proceeded to get matrix'd and ko'd with a pretty unique front kick. I still remember watching it at the bar.. back when you had to go to the bar 2 hours before the fight to get a seat on UFC nights.
Machida scored on a front kick on future UFC champ Rich Franklin long before Silva knocked out Belfort, so I would say Machida was the first to get a major knockout with the technique.
