4 was my least favorite of the modern ones. niko bellic was such a fuckin loser
5 seems like a step backward, even from GTA4. It was too much arcade style. GTA San Andreas is my favorite too. But I think GTA4 gets overlooked a lot in terms of the little things they did that made it gritty and realistic.
The driving was more difficult, yes. But more realistic. Not every car on the street handles like an F1 super car. But, it is a game after all. And I kind of agree that it was a little too sluggish and that 5 improved it. The shooting, that was a bit weaker. But when you shot someone in GTA4, it actually felt like you shot someone. They reacted realistically. In GTA5, it’s like they took a step backward, and just made everyone bullet sponges who only reacted when they died. They all react with the same 1 or 2 canned animations. I feel like that really encapsulates the differences between 4 and 5.Couldn't disagree more.
The driving physics was a step backwards from the GT3 trilogy and lock-on shooting had overstayed its welcome.
As much criticism as I have for lack of content, its driving and shooting huge improvements over prior entries in the series.

And therein lays the problem. That was really the only difference between 90% of the cars - how fast they accelerate. Nothing else in terms of driving. There were multiple cars that handled differently with different rates of accelerations.
I'm pretty sure that's how it was in GTA4 and I do know it how it was in the GT3 games.

In GTA4, when you shot people, they reacted dynamically, depending on where you shot them. In 5, the animations and physics, when it comes to any type of combat as well as most everything else, are like those of games 8 years older.
They did a few things better in 5. But 4 > 5. SA is still the best.
You left out the part in which I explained that the same kind of thing applies to nearly every aspect of GTA4 vs GTA5. Not just gun combat. Also unarmed combat. And just everything in general.Sorry, but saying the main reason that GTA4 > GTA5 is because the when you shoot people they have alot more & realistic animations, is a very weak argument.

I genuinely don't remember. I think I just thought it looked gay.
i assumed he said it looked gay cuz of the pink colors and palm treesI agree in the non-homophobic sense of the word. There is nothing in the game that made me care about anything nor was it novel. Why do I want to butt scoot around a city that looks like the same thing I live in? Red Dead Redemption, Oblivion, and Skyrim at least had a more fantasy element to them.
