vice city yo
Probably 5, had a pretty lengthy campaign and I put a lot of hours into GTA Online years ago.
"Grand Theft Which IV" was pretty sweet, though.
Vice City for me but I think 1 and 2 don't get the respect they deserve. They were awesome for the time.
San Andreas, by far.
For 2005, it was a HUGE open world, with three separate cities and alot of countryside in-between, and it took me 40+ hours to beat mostly because I was constantly taking breaks to go on rampages to make more money.
One of the biggest disappointments of GTA5 is they only remade Los... whatever the name was... and never bothered to develop expansions to the open world like the San Francisco & Las Vegas cities that San Andreas.
GTA5 had the potential to be a GOAT game, but instead Rockstar and Take-Two were fully satisfied with just making billions off of GTA Online.
5 seems like a step backward, even from GTA4. It was too much arcade style. GTA San Andreas is my favorite too. But I think GTA4 gets overlooked a lot in terms of the little things they did that made it gritty and realistic.
I liked 5 but christ are they milking the fuck out of it. I guess its cool if you like online or the RP bs, I just wanted more single player heists and stuff back in what? 2014? Really haven't touched it very much since then.
San Andreas, I played them all except Vice City.
4 and 5 just had too much going on. When you're waiting 20 minutes for the game to load so you can do yoga, you gotta start questioning the overall scope of the game.
Nostalgia says GTA:SA, but objectivity says GTA5.
The PS2 era games, while revolutionary and holding up pretty well all things considered, have some really dated mechanics that can only be overlooked to a point. I'd be lying if I said I have more fun playing those games. GTA5 simply does everything better. I only wish it didn't nerf the physics of GTA4 so hard. That's the only area in the game that felt like a step backwards, but it more than made up for it in other areas.
I loved me some Vice City, chopping up random pedestrians with a chainsaw listening to Flock Of Seagulls “ I Ran So Far Away” good memories
Wtf why didn't you play vice city
I think vice city might be the first one I played, maybe outside of the first 2. Def played it before I played 3 and the ones after
Based on my level of enjoyment of them at the time of their release
1. Vice City
5. San Andreas
San Andreas is the one I had the most fun with at the time. 5 is the only one I'd go back and play today.
They all started feeling like a job. I try to get into them but it feels like the bigger the sandbox the more pain in the ass it is to work through the story. None of them felt fun and had an engaging story like fallout 3 and fallout new Vegas.
I think I will go with gta 4 as being the one I liked the most.
I played GTA 3 more than any of them. It's unintentionally more sandbox-like in its missions.
I prefer driving physics of later games, as they are too floaty in this, but I'd take that over missions that force you into one way of doing them. I like the silent protagonist approach too.
I genuinely don't remember. I think I just thought it looked gay.
