The fact that Adesanya dodges the oblique kick then immediately counter with a lighting fast head kick. Or the fact that Whittaker managed to see that kick coming and blocked it.

it's a high kick unless it connects with a head

You mean "Whittaker trying to block it but wasn't quick enough"?

Not sure the oblique kick landed (or landed well, especially after he backed up) But now that you point it out... that was an incredible block! ... Okay, on second thought, after pausing it at 1:21 on the clock, I realized that was mainly Izzy's foot that landed. And it did kinda connect. (Shin to dome is CroCop crap)
As Daniel pointed out, it may not have been blocked super well, but to give credit where it's due, it was still an amazing reflex on Robert's behalf. That's because Izzy's timing was incredible on the head kick and if Izzy would've been 2 inches closer when he threw it, he would've gotten the knockout right there.

It would've been better if Izzy threw a straight, Whitaker was slightly off balance and had his hands down.

I like posters trying to come up with new material but geez....

If you're talking about reactions, then Whittaker since it was more obvious that Whittaker was throwing the oblique than Adesanya throwing the high kick. If you're talking about defense, then obvs Adesanya since the Whittaker block was pretty much last minute defense against being countered compared to Israel reading what Rob was going to throw before he threw it.
