Is wrestling more about ground control and BJJ more about finishes?
Bjj guys generally don’t lay and pray and always look to advance position
Wrestling by GNP
I have no idea
Wrestling alone doesn’t have finishes though so anyone you see getting finishes is going to have plenty of bjj training
Actual finishes via strict discipline would obviously be BJJ, since western wrestling really isn't about subs.
In the context of MMA and positional dominance leading to finishes, wrestling has led to more overall fights being ended.
Wrestlers who can box/strike like Chad Mendes, Romero, and Tyron Woodley
There aren't very many moves you can use from wrestling to submit someone since submissions are not legal in wrestling(other than catch wrestling).
The only wrestling moves I know that you can use as a submission are the guillotine(called the twister in BJJ), the front head lock(Hughes vs Almeida) and the bannana split. I think there is another wrestling pin that causes pain and targets the groin but I can't remember the name of it currently.
BJJ shits all over wrestling
at least bjj guys ca submit from the bottom, wrestlers just looking to get back up from the bottom. But at the same time it feels bad when the bjj guy just plays guard and doesnt have the skill to threat for a submission.
