In the early days, obvious answer was TUF, as it produced some great fighter and champions

But who was the last great fighter on TUF? Gasteleum? Who was on before Contender series

Also look at the Kimbo vs Hardy comparison.
Kimbo was on TUF and flamed out
Hardy worked his was through contender series and is now legit on the roster

Also with Contenter series, you only have to win "1" fight impressively, while TUF you have to win the show, although you get to live in the house, train full time under UFC star coaches

TUF winners and popular fighters from it tend to not be thrown to the wolves too early and generally get favorable or even matchups at least for the first couple fights.

Contender series guys often have been filling in replacement fights and don’t seem to get as favorable matchups often. Also, in a season of contender series they are signing something like 12+ fighters per season whereas in TUF they generally only keep semi finalists, the winner and runner up and anyone else might get 1 chance.
