Im actually doing every 2 days 7km running but I have problems with my left knee so I cant force this too much so I dont do a constant running, I stop every 1km to do 10 push ups and immediately I return running

my question is what other kind of exercises I can do to get more tired apart from the push ups? i mean to change one km push. another km other exercise.

Burpees, tuck jumps, sit ups, planks, pull ups (if you run past a set of bars, or a tree with branches the right height)... check out the bodyweight training thread.

btw I do on streets so I cant carry dumbell and there isnt any bar to do pull ups and I dont want leg exercises: squats, lunges or burpeed because those will stress my knee worse.

You can carry small dumbells while you run.

You can go on all 4 and bearcrawl for intervals, that will get you tired and not too much stress on your knees
(but you might get picked up and arrested if someone calls)

if i dont get tired, i just run faster. im up to 10mi at 8m mile pace. trying to push for 7:50

i run 3 days a week. lift 3 other days

i cant think of many exercises to fit you that dont use legs. bearcrawls dont put much pressure on your knees.

thats the thing, I can run faster but if i do that, I got my left knee in pain. Thats the reason I drain myself in order to get tired and run slower in consequence.

Use stairs along the way to change the pace.

Bring a skipping rope and do some double unders every once in a while.

Stop and do shadow-boxing before running again. (Use the 1# gloves if you need to.)

whats a #1 glove?

Burpees, decline pushups, staggered or archer pushups, assisted handstand practice, jackknife situps, do you knOw what's wrong w your knee?

Also try and identify a tree branch or sometHing you can throw a towel or length of rope over for pull ups or vertical rows. Similarly find a place to improvise dips, get creative

any other examples? please.

someone beat me to it, but the best ones would be burpees. crab walks. mountain climbers.

the challenge is that you do it on the street, so the surface may be too painful to do other things like army crawls, planks and bicycle sit ups

I meant 1 lbs gloves, you can buy those everlast for $15-20 at wal-mart.

yes some ligament problems detected last year but nothing that is increasing it just come and go every time I stress the knee or when I lift something heavy. its that kind of problem you have forever even if you left exercises because I left like 3 months because of doctor and nothing changed, I just learnt to not stress the knee too much and Im doing fine that way.

I run with gloves used to lift weights to not harm too much my hands and thanks for the exercises.
