He was looking pretty Damn impressive if you ask me.

Sucks we will never know now. I think he would still be in the mix

Such a bummer. He always put on a good show. Sad he never got his shot.

I still think he would be in Canada, but you never know.

Would’ve been a stable top 10 fighter, his striking was nice to watch, his KO over Wiman was brutal.

To be honest, LW division wasnt nearly the shark tank it is now

He could have been similar to Jim Miller/Josh Thompson and faded out against the Fergy/Pourier/Khabib/Alvarez of the division

I mean.... Excessively punch drunk probably. It's.not like he retired because he wanted to

T.J. would be drinking another beer with me.

On a serious note, this is the day after he learned he had a detached retina. He was about to have his first child too. He sort of shelled up and mentioned never fighting again. He then said let's go get a beer and that was that haha. He retired.

Note: I was living with Team Takedown's striking coach at the time and that house was a hub for all the fighters whoul would visit to help us with camp.

See my other post.

He retired because of a detached retina and because he wanted to focus on his family.

Well his concussion problems were well known. Unless I'm thinking of the wrong guy, that's a large part of why he retired.

I like to think he would have beaten Bendo for the belt and defended against Pettis. RDA probably would have been an issue for him after that though.

I used to see him occasionally at work. I didn't ask about fight stuff because I didn't want to be THAT guy. He was working blue collar Joe jobs until recently, now he's coaching at a gym in Halifax (Pro Edge I think?).
