Easily number 2. Bader vs Jones 2 would be a fun match.

Gotcha, wasn't criticizing. Gus I can see being there, because I don't think anyone believes he's actually retired. But DC is way too fat and comfortable now to ever make LHW again.

I'd say top 4. Also, Jones is too scared to move to Belator to fight Bader

Probably 4 if you're still leaving DC in LHW rankings.

    #2 or #3 IMO.

I could see him beating a Cormier but also being outstruck by the lower ranked guys.

    {<huh}

It's been nearly 2 years and 3 HW fights since Cormier last fought at LHW and he's somehow still ranked

Yep, nothing about time limits. Remember in the olden days when each list had it's own criteria? Some lists dropped fighters for inactivity after one year, some 2 years, some never.

    How are rankings determined?
Rankings were generated by a voting panel made up of media members. The media members were asked to vote for who they feel are the top fighters in the UFC by weight-class and pound-for-pound. A fighter is only eligible to be voted on if they are in active status in the UFC.

A fighter can appear in more than one weight division at a time. The champion and interim champion are considered to be in the top positions of their respective divisions and therefore are not eligible for voting by weight-class. However, the champions can be voted on for the pound-for-pound rankings.
Weird thing is, wasn't Nate Diaz dropped off the 'official UFC' rankings for inactivity after one year during contract negotiations? That would be proof UFC puts their thumb on the scales (as if we needed any proof).

    EDIT: yep, he was. https://fansided.com/2019/04/25/ufc-removes-nate-diaz-from-rankings/

Bader is legit and his hands gave gotten much better. Mix it up with his wrestling and he'll give most people not named Jones problems.

Not gonna rank him but, when matched up, it's a tossup with:
    Santos
    Smith
    Reyes
    Blachowicz
    Gustafsson
    Anderson
    Oezdemir

Cowboy moved to WW and nearly immediately dropped in the LW rankings. Especially after he fought there. He was still ranked for a few months at LW, but it was declining, not staying the same, until eventually no one was ranking him at LW.

The only reason Cormier would be consistently staying ranked at the same rank is because everybody is voting to keep him there... which makes no sense.

He was top 5 when he left I think he would be top 5 if he returned. Bader is an elite fighter just not the best of the division he could beat most guys in the top 5 but most guys in the top 5 could also beat him.

He 100% would lose a few and even if Jones was not there he would be a coin flip against a lot of guys so I don't think he would ever wear the belt.
