Hey guys, I'm going to Honolulu for a wedding. It will be my first time going to Hawaii. I'm staying close to Waikiki and the University of Hawaii, Manoa.

Any recommendations on where I can train? I train both in gi and no-gi but I prefer gi.

Also, how's the public transportation system out there? Is getting a rental car necessary to train at these schools?

I saw a great thread but I'm not sure if it's up to date:

Any help would be really appreciated! Thanks again!

I can't recommend Blackbelt instructor Leandro Nyza and his crew over at the HMC Academy highly enough.

I was on vacation down there with my Gi last year, and they really took care of me.

Great teacher, great atmosphere, great training partners, great people.

Those guys are what BJJ should be all about.
