Now that Trump is no longer an issue ( well, sort of ) - I can finally achieve my final form of becoming a moderate.

My take is this, Republican's are between a rock and a hard place because in order to succeed, they probably need to do some level of pandering to Trump's coalition. In fact, they may need to do a lot more than pander because Trump's coalition was so broad. Trump really fired up rural support and in this election brought up like 10 million extra hillbillies from the dead to vote for the first time in 20 years.

On the other hand, Biden stripped off the independents from Trump while also picking up suburban Republicans.

They are kind of a a damed if you do damned if you don't scenario.

My thought would be that they need to use the next four years to purge Trumpians like Graham, Jordan, McConnell, Collins, etc., while allowing more space for people like Romeny and Kasich.

The downside of this is that Kashich and Romeny are already spoiled as "losers". The point though is to let Romeny and Kasich open the door for a new breed of conservative candidate.

They go back to complaining about the debt and blocking bills, claiming it will ruin America's economy because of the debt.

I think you'll see that they will actually be happy to get some work done with the dems after having to deal with the orange fuckwit.. everyone in the GOP for the most part are glad Trump lost. He was nothing but a nightmare... and a stupid as fuck one at that.

    I feel that.

We are going to have some real opportunity to pass some bills in Biden's honeymoon phase.

Didn't trump get the most votes ever by a republican. Take away the 24-7, 365 brainwashing campaign and he wins. He got 43% of ny for fuck sake. Very impressive latino numbers too.

They've become the defacto party of working class America. They should further reach out to latinos and embrace unions and common sense positions

I really don’t understand what Republicans stand for at this point. Seems like majority voted Trump to own the libz or as a result of Trumps cult of personality.

They got 70 million votes in general, gain seats in house and most likely will keep majority in senate...

Trump agenda is definitely alive in Republican Party

In biden stays president, democrats will most likely screw thibgs up, lose the house in mid term and then lose all 3 branches in 2024 with possibly turmp getting a 2nd term

Nowhere. Trump will continue to hold rallies, and be the unofficial leader of the party until he runs again in 2024.

It's kind of an interesting scenario, as Trump will still be pulling some strings despite not being in government. He ain't goin' anywhere. He got 70,000,000 votes, and has half the country devoted to him. Dems better be careful, and not rock the boat too much. After four years, they best have a good economy and a general satisfactory approval rating, or else Donnie boy will go back in and sweep the nation back up.

Well, if he doesn't die or get dementia that is. He is pretty old.

Yeah, a "man" who caves to a "man" like Trump should NEVER be close to the levers of power. Weak beyond comprehension.

not even that, although that whole thing with mitt trying for sec of state further showed what he is. hes just a snake in the grass that'll align himself with whoever can benefit him at the time. very untrustworthy like all career politicians

I think the right will quickly stop being pro Trump and just become anti Biden. They are going to need some time to find their new identity. I'm hoping whatever they come up with is more policy based and less culture wars.

GOP is still strong. They picked up seats in the house and kept the senate. Supreme court is 6/3 conservative too. The left will lose more house seats in the next mid term too.

There will be a lot of disappointed young progressives in 4 years when the left has delivered nothing they claimed they would.
