I'm going either the presumption that DC will lose to Jones via UD. I think even though they'll clinch and fight inside a little Jones will mostly keep DC at bay with his superior striking and keep DC on the outside and win via points. It could be an exciting fight at first but then become boring as Jones is able to keep this up the entire fight for the win.

So, if DC loses, where does he go? I think it depends on how he loses and what happens to Cain. If DC gets tromped by Jones is spectacular fashion him going back to HW wouldn't be unlikely, especially if Cain somehow loses to Werdum (if Werdum somehow beats Cain it will start from a strike, not a plain submission). If Cain beats Werdum and regains his belt I don't see DC going back to HW as he and Cain won't fight each other. Obviously if it's a very close fight or controversial decision DC would stay at LHW.

If Cain loses to Werdum and DC loses to Jones, do you think DC will go back to HW? Or do you think even if DC and Cain lose that DC won't go back to HW as he will know that Cain will be making his way back to a title shot in an attempt to regain his belt?

Since Cain is always injured, I would say back up to HW for DC.

He'll stay at LHW but he'll take some time off and won't fight regularly because he makes extra money anyway with his commentator job and I don't know if he gets paid for his job as coach at AKA but possibly he does

Fight the loser of Gus/Rumble. He said he's finishing his career at LHW

i'd go the other way on this one. winner of Gus/Rumble, possibly for #1 contender

i'd also like to see Phil Davis get dropped on his head/neck/spine...

Agree, except I think he goes to HW so that he doesn't have to deal with the weight cut. He is 36, has a good commentating job and the head wrestling coach at AKA - when Jones wins I don't think he's going to have a ton of motivation left.

He just said on twitter a few days ago that he'll be at LHW for the remainder of his career.

The winner of Gus/Rumble is the obvious next contender.

true, but we both know by now that the obvious tends to get overlooked a lot in the UFC. I like your scenario, though. hope it comes to fruition...

you dislike him to the point you'd like him to be gravely injured? does he owe you child support or something?

I think he stays at LHW. If Cain retired I think he'd be back to HW.

to me, it depends on the way he loses. if he gets destroyed, then he either tries making the cut to middleweight, or drops down the ladder in the light-heavyweight standings and tries again. i don't see him moving to heavyweight. there is no point in going there, if he won't fight cain. if he loses in a close fight, then he'll fight jones again at some point. look at gustafsson. he lost a very close decision, and people want to see him fight jones again.

this isn't the end for dc, no matter what happens in this fight. since i think dc is going to beat jones, i don't think cormier will have to worry about this scenario.

Still a lot of great fights for DC at LHW, win or lose. Still want to see him fight Shad and Gus.

You talk in hindsight a lot. And made me laugh with the "superior striking jones has line" . Anyways if DC loses he will take the 6 months to have his knee surgery come back and then Whoop Jones .

I think DC and Jones have only begun a long and intense rivalry.

I think he stays at LHW, unless he loses decisively AND Cain completely retires or steps away for a year or more, due to injuries.
