He should focus on getting a rematch as soon as possible.
With a different gameplan & the experience of the 1st fight, he might be able to win. I think he was a bit arrogant about his wrestling, then got shocked and a little deflated when he found Jones to be much tougher than he expected. So in a rematch he might be better prepared for that. Even so, he made a fight of it, and would not have to do too much differently to win 2 more rounds = get the dec...
If he waits too long he would get lost in the shuffle, plus age is against him, although he doesn't seem to have any age problems yet (no rehabilitating injuries etc), and numerous people are competing at high level in various sports but especially at combat ones even into their early 40s now.
