Move up to 155, or go back to 145 and defend the belt?
Not sure if this really needs a new thread.
Could have just added this to the million other Conor threads?
If he loses badly, I think he'll consider retirement.
The dude's never going back to 145. If he loses, I can see him fighting Poirier or Duffy at LW.
This is exactly why the fight will be rigged/ They want that Conor hype money/ 3rd fight/ etc etc
Conor could become the biggest flop in mma ever. Talks his was into a title shot, lands a lucky punch, moves up gets tapped by nate, gets his ass beat by nate again. moves down to 145 gets his ass beat by aldo, then edgar takes him out. Dude could seriously lose his next 3-4 fights. Yes I said the punch on aldo was lucky, COME AT ME.
Right into my anal gape.
The Diaz / Mac trilogy is going to happen then.
And if Conor loses that one, they'll replay it again. He'll get lucky sooner or later.
HARD opinions, I like it
MMA fans are shitty bandwagoners for the most part so it's really going to hurt his image. I don't think theres another sport with more non loyal fans honestly.
Honestly, the whole point of doing it at WW is that UFC can write it off as "crazy brave conor" taking shots at WW, and it wont effect his standing at FW. If he loses again, which i think he probably will. He'll come back FW and defend his belt against Aldo. That belt is his security blanket at the moment, to remind people that even losing to nate he's still a champ. If he loses to Aldo, he might take a ding. But the guy can sell a fight. They'll sell the "comeback" angle.
Words of wisdom. Agree 100%.
He won't lose, he moved up too much in weight too fast, it won't be the same again and yes he will knock nate out cold.
Down and then completely gone once he loses to Aldo
in the bin
I think he wins. But if he doesn't he's undefeated at 145, and the champion. The hype will take a serious hit, but Conor will be fine fight wise, and money wise.
I'm guessing he never goes back to 145....reason being he'll be able to say nobody beat him at 145 and will point to his win over Aldo with his reason being I've beat everyone there now I'll conquer 155.
If he loses to Nate I'm guessing they'll give him somebody at 155 that is a "better" match up. Trust me they want to protect their "boy" now that Ronda is gone and with WME as the owners the marketing will be even more ramped up.
If Nate does win they'll have the "street kid" who broke out of the shadow of his brother that relates to the people and doesn't throw his wealth in peoples faces.
The fights are real, but the match making is all about building the next draw.
TRUTH is Conor has the toughest test of his fight career. If he loses to Nate then he has to face a hungry Aldo for the belt.
Losing to Nate will kill his hype as a big money fighter & the Floyd fight will lose steam. Losing to Aldo would kill his whole career.
Think he will lose both fights cause u can't learn bjj in 4 months and he's wont get lucky on Aldo again.
To the desert to dig up those bodies. At least he can beat those midgets....
It's a shame because Conor is the man and taking risks no one else is. The hate just encourages more fighters to stay in their weight classes and not challenge p4p guys at the time like RDA.
I'll root for Conor every time he's not fighting a Diaz bro.
