Where does all the money go? Israel is asking!

PPV provider gets 50% of sales. Local and International tax. Millions on marketing for a main event that never happened. UFC employee and subcontract pay: marketing, design teams, distributors, match makers, officials, doctors...then you have the usual event fees: fighter medicals, fighter & team flights, hotels and extras, legal fees, venue hire, commentary staff, insurance...

I'm not sure why Sherdoggers don't consider even a few of these expenses when making these threads. All they see is PPV + gate - fighter pay, like everyone and everything else involved is free.

I guarantee they lost money on this card, broke even at best. It was a complete disaster.

Oh, you's a smarty ass poster, huh!? Coming in here with your rational thoughts and critical thinking.

<DisgustingHHH>

I found if funny he talked about PPV points.

Didn't Mighty Mouse have like 6 title defenses without PPV points before getting them? And doesn't the PPV has to reach a certain number of buys to be eligble to earn PPV points and you only earn points from that point?

But yeah UFC are fucking them for sure.

Israel should have negociated a better contract. He was already a big name in combat sport.
For instance Overeem get 800k minimum. Of course Israël wasn't as famous that Alistair but he was still a title contender in the current best Kickboxing organisation. He should ask for 300k minimum.

After win over Silva will Israel pay go up or down ?

OMG. It’s almost as if the UFC is a for profit business.... shocking.

Please help Israel

Can you fill in the gaps
People finally starting to get it. People like randy and dan tried to form some sort of union but fear got in its way.
There are actually fighters in UFC (that is now mainstream, continued ppvs, ESPN, ticket prices through roof) that get 2-3 fights in year and depending if they win or lose take a home a % of their show/ " if win" money. After trainers (and in this day and age- several to be successful), other financial back end commitments, there are UFC fighters hovering around the poverty line/number .....and some have families. How does that work ?

lmao doesn't 50% go to the government

ITT: people acting like fighter pay is completely maxed out and the UFC is bleeding money on events.

fucking lol.

the gate alone covered the entire guaranteed pay for athletes. if you don't support the fighters in this struggle, you're a god damn cunt.

Illahan Omar says it goes to the GOP

peasants are stupid. thats why they work for a living.

i had to fire half my staff at one of my old companies as they all walked out and wanted a raise. they thought just because my business was suddenly increasing profits, that they also deserved a larger slice of the pie. what they didn't understand is that I was still negative from running the business at a loss for 10 months and even with increased revenue, I was still covering losses carried from prior months. peasants are dumb. they have no idea of how business works. they want all of the upside and none of the downside. I'll share my profits when they share the losses. ofcause they will sure "yes" to that AFTER i've already spent years and $XXXXX on building the business. are they going to jump on the ground floor on a new venture? nope..

Wait so Montana the TUF reject who was complaining about her paycheck made 81.5k in only her 3rd UFC fight???

Lmao fuck this girl

Now divide those "300k" PPV buys by about 4 and you've got a more accurate figure

He's actually asking about the money that would have gone to Whittaker (and presumably Gastelum) for being the main event. That's what turns me on about you; your attention to detail.

So tired of these guys complaining.

Truth is, MMA will never make the bottom 90% of the roster any real money.

That these guys don't seem to understand this is baffling.

LEARN HOW TO BOX if you wanna make bank.

banish this common sense sherdogger

Went into Bosses' bank accounts, so they can buy private jets, 20 Lamborghinis, 10 mansions to store 15 mistresses inside, LIVING THE AMERICAN DREAM, hanging out with celebrities in night club every fucking day.
baby wipes. don't forget tons and tons of baby wipes.

Great, so MMA goes away as we now know it.

Don't remember money being an issue for anyone in the 90s...

How about this...10% of all fighters pay has to go into retirement accounts for the legends of this game that made the platform for you...the platform that most now use to point fight, weight cut and wrestle fuck in embarrassing fashion... and then bitch about pay?

50% right off the top is a fucking drop in the bucket?
The new deal has the split 70/30, but even when it was 50% the ppv numbers averaged like 400k-500k buys lol.

And you say "right off the top" like ppv revenue is their only source of income. Did you forget about the 750 million dollar ESPN deal? Did you forget about Rebok? Monster energy? Harley Davidson? Nemiroth? Modelo? Concessions? Merchandise? Live gate?

These clowns think a 4 billion dollar company doesn't make money off 300k ppv buys and a multi million dollar gate. "But what about the camera guys?!?!" if you don't think the UFC could pay for all the production cost associated with every piece of media they produce for the next 5 years with 50 million out of the 750 million dollar deal, you don't understand how numbers work. That still leaves 700 million in that one deal alone..

FWIW, I read that the 70/30 deal was reported prematurely. Negotiations haven't finalized.
