Where did the myth that Tim Kennedy fights are boring come from?

3 of his last five fights have resulted in finishes.

He wobbled Bisping in the 4th round. In one of the decisions and the other decision was vs Gracie who rarely has exciting fights.

His last five fights have given us less stinkers than a majority of fighters yet all I read about is people saying he is boring and they don't want to watch him.

He was pretty boring in strikeforce, but his ufc fights have been much more interesting

He's had some wrestlephuk / LnP stink-fests in the past.

But he is a good fighter and fun to watch overall.

from his SF days, the Bisping fight was also pretty bad, tbh

From the fights themselves. I'm sure the sight of Kennedy gets you off, but there is nothing exciting going on except when Romero waxed him.

He didn't avoid the ground game against Gracie.

He made Gracie look like a fucking white belt and embarrassed him on the ground. It looked like Gracie printed off a free BJJ class coupon and turned it in to the instructor while talking mad shit, never training a day in his life.

I'm a bit biased, but none of his fights have been boring to me. He's had a few meh moments in his Strike Force days I'll admit, but it was never that bad. People just hate on him with his stances. He's very vocal about things and speaks his mind.

Most people who say Tim is boring never really watched many of his fights.

A finish doesn't always equal NOT boring

When a Brazilian BJJ guy does it, it's brilliant grappling. When an American wrestler does it, it's LnP. When a Russian does it, it's somewhere in the middle. MMA fans like their Americans to be like Brawk - just big white dudes doing hulk smashes to people with lunchbox fists.

FFS people still talk about Bigfoot Silva's jitz every time he fights, but the guy hasn't submitted anyone in seven years. But since he's Brazilian we won't admit he's nothing more than a (very) poor man's Brock.

Agreed. Wow, I have no idea what the poster that you quoted was talking about. I am 100% serious when I question if they really watched that fight or not.

I will rewatch, to make sure that we are correct remembering the fight the way we do.

I would swear the the vast majority of the fight was contested AND DECIDED grappling. Bottom line, the Cardio Vascular advantage that Tim enjoyed over Roger was more than enough to negate any BJJ skill advantage that Roger may have had over Tim.

I would personally LOVE to see Tim compete in ADCC after seeing how well he defended after GIVING Roger Gracie his back.

Roger is the GOD of the ADCC submission grappling tournament, running roughshod over the competition. He flat out got tooled grappling against Tim!

He's not necessarily boring but his style isn't exactly aesthetically pleasing for most fans

I don't find his fights boring, he's a really interesting fighter to watch. His complete dismantling of Bisping was awesome.

The only time I didn't like watching him was when he cheated against Romero, but he got the quickest karma possible for that one.

How did he cheat against Romero? I'm drawing a blank.

His personality overshadows his fights sometimes.

I think it's his face. It's boring.
Romero and Bisping fight were entertaining, don't remember much more of him. People talk about him so negatively, I never think to search his name on FP.
