I heard the UFC actually planned on holding an event in Iowa. However, when determining the location/fighters/etc. the Iowans involved couldn't definitively decide anything....so the event was moved to another state.

Hence why I said this is the closest they've come. We've attended many of those events. It would just be nice not having to drive 5+ hours to Chicago every time we want to attend an event. Lincoln, NE is only about a 3 hour drive from here. Tied with Omaha for about the closest they've come to here.
