When your workout is interrupted..

    Yesterday halfway through my workout something came up and I was gone from the gym between 30-45 minutes. When I came back I went ahead and finished my second half of workout. Now my question is was my workout completely pointless with the 30-45 minute break in the middle? Should I had restarted the entire workout? Should I add in some extra sets to those specific muscles with my other workouts in the week?

    It depends IMO on what you get done.

    For example if you are supposed to do squat and bench and you get all squats done until you're interrupted by something then you can just go and do your bench without worrying about squats.

    But if you're interrupted during an exercise then I don't really know what to say besides that you should probably warm up and lightly work up to your work set again.

    What sort of workout? Strength? No problem. Maybe redo part of your warmup.
    Cardio? It's a little different, but if you don't make a habit of it, still no problem.

    I often have up to two (and, on occasion, three) breaks in-between finishing my day's workout, simply due to work schedule. Oftentimes the breaks are multiple hours long. If you have no other choice, then you have two choices: a) be a pussy about it, b) get the work done any way possible.

    Or more likely, you are unable to understand when a proper answer has been given, and react to it. There is no need for redundant correct answers, and that would ruin the vibe around here.
