When will the UFC host a stadium of 80,000 people?

They could do it anytime they want but they wont cause doing that isnt that important to the UFC.

Difference is that boxing match was big in UK, they didnt have to worry about US audience.

See UFC could go to Brazil and put on a card or Sweden with Jones/Gus and probably do something like that but they would be losing press in the US and PPV buys in the US, thats the problem.

Now could UFC price tickets cheap enough and put on a card in Cowboy Stadium? Put cain/Werdum, Anderson/Diaz, Jones/Gus, Gil/Pettis, that would sell out easily if the tickets were priced right but UFC doesnt care about that.

Anyone know the gate for that Froch fight?

When they stack a card with super fights and go to Dallas... Hey look a unicorn

Friends Arena, Stockholm, 65k.

They need a stacked card, The UFC is not PRIDE!

If it was gonna happen it would have. Not now.

^this. When GSP, Liddell, Couture, Brawck Lesn@r, PrideFC roster was absorbed, Aldo crowdsurfing in Brazil, were happening simultaneously. MMA has stablized, if not fizzled some.

It would take something like a GSP return main event with a co-main a caliber of Carano v Rousey or something similarly large.

UFC will never pull 80K lmfao

We've heard from Dana's mouth the UFC will become the biggest sport in the world. at ufc159 he was quoted for saying "Obama would have to sit on his lap if he wanted a seat" Obviously he is a promoter and will say crazy things......But how long do you think it'll take the UFC to seat 80,000 closest so far is 55k with GSP vs Shields.

Found it kind of funny. The sport which people claim is dead "Boxing" Just filled a stadium of 80,000 people in London,England 5,000 in attendance at weigh-ins

I totaled out all the attendance of the UFC that took place in London and this is what I got.

UFC london Gus vs Manuwa=14,604
UFC Fuel tv=10,349
UFC 120 Bisping vs Akiyama=17,133
UFC 95 Sanchez vs Stevenson 13,268
UFC 85 Bedlam 15,327
UFC 75=16,234
UFC 38=5,000

Grand total=91,915

The take away, It takes 6 1/2 ufc London cards to equal Carl vs Froch

So clearly it has a long way from being the biggest sport in the world.

My friend don't get caught up with all that boxing b&llsh*t going around.

London's never getting a pay-per-view that's stacked due to the time differences...if even another pay-per-view again for a while.

UFC has too many shows to sell out a huge stadium like that nowadays. Maybe UFC 200

When they make card like this

main
Anderson/weidman vs gsp 5 rounds catch weight
Co main
Cain vs jones 5 rounds HW
Ronda vs cyborg 5 rounds 140
Pettis vs Aldo 5 rounds 155
Dillashaw vs MM 5 rounds 140
And 4 more just bleed fighters that go 3 hard rounds

It would have look something like that

Groves vs Froch was the biggest fight the UK has seen since Lennox was in his prime.

If Dana did Jones vs Gus you could film Wembley stadium...Watching Bisping 5 round a top 20 middle weight is all that Dana gives us Brits...since Hendo vs Page we've never had a real card.

Cyborg vs Rousey
Anderson Silva vs Nick Diaz
Vitor vs Wanderlei

......in Brazil

I'm kinda inclined to think the UFC will never sell 80k seats.

The UFC as currently assembled can't both make a card good enough to sell that much and put on the other cards they want to. No promotion can. They'd have to take 4-6 other smaller main events to make a good enough card and, by their own doing, aren't in a position to do it.

When they get as epic as PRIDE once was.

With no GSP or Anderson Silva there's no way they would do a 80k stadium show.

Damn, and this is the sport that all the soccer/ufc fans from Europe swear is completely unknown in their countries and isn't as big as the UFC.

Wonder how they got so many people to attend if there isn't any demand or interest in the NFL?

Beause clearly there is interest ....
