He's put on quite a bit of mass in the past 3 years but he fought at 170 in those days. I don't think 185 is out of the question & I think it's a better fit for him. He can't stop DC/Jones' wrestling. There's no way in hell. But the 185ers I think he could give fits. He was giving Vitor a tough outing until that one got a little screwjobby.. Athletically he matches up well at MW..

How does Rumble vs Rockhold sound?

He just made a top 5 LHW look like a complete amateur. How exactly is he going to "fail" at LHW?

Give me a fucking break...

...what's next? Anderson Silva at WW? Overeem at 205? Manny Pacquiao at 106?

He stuffed Davis who is a pretty solid wrestler in his own right. I don't think he will need to drop a weight class. I don't see a lot of guys beating him at 205. I also don't know he would try to make MW again, he said he walks around in the 230s. Pretty big dude at LHW.

He's a good fighter but he can't beat someone like JBJ or DC.. And whenever you can't win a title & have the ability to drop weight you do it.

Success is winning a belt.

No way, 205 is perfect for him. Even if he were to drop a fight or two I think staying right at 205 is his best move.

i think he's better than his efforts at 170 showed. he had gassing issues at 170 whenever he had to do any sort of grappling, iirc.

So failing is not beating a guy who could go down as the greatest fighter of all time? You must trolling.

I am pretty sure he has never made mw.. It
Was always at rumble weight.. I don't see him cutting to mw, he just tooled Davis and will soon ko lil nog

Someone better go call up Bigfoot Silva and tell him to drop down to 205.

No way. What makes you think he's gonna fall? He's been on a roll. Also, he would probably have problems making 185 even though he used to be a Welterweight. He's always had trouble making weight. I think 205 is his new home, I think if he made 185 he'd be a beast there aswell.

So let me get this straight TS. Every fighter in the UFC who isnt a champ is a failure.

The biggest issues Johnson has had in the cage is from cutting weight, not from getting out wrestled. He's been taken down, and subbed a few times, but he performs much better without cutting weight. Wrestling can always be worked on, and the Blackzilians seem to finally be putting things together as a team and are becoming a very solid camp. He's in the right place at 205 and he's at the right camp, nothing needs to change.

Can't stop jones/DC wrestling? ? Remember when phil Davis taught gustaffson to wrestle?
Remember what gustaffson did to jones wrestling?? How about what rumble did to Davis? ?
Are you understanding the errors of your judgement yet???

WASTELAND

he'd be a monster at 185, given his diet and cardio are up to par.

Johnson will get the next title shot after DC, if not the next one after Gus depending on how long Cormier is out for

What's stopping him from carving out a spot in the top 5 at 205?

There's three guys who he definitely/probably can't beat: Gus, Jones and Cormier. Jones could jump up to HW in a few years, Gus could potentially follow suit and DC is in his mid to late 30s. Other than though, who is gonna trouble Rumble? It's not like Rashad is going to fight him. He'd probably beat Bader. He's already beaten Phil. The likes of Hendo, Shogun and Wanderlei are on the downside. I'm not saying he'll be champion but there's not much stopping him from making a run at 205.
