Well damn - this popped up in my feed. Without any ounce of shame - I cried watching this.

My pup - picked him up in March (he is 9 months old a Boston Terrier Cross). First pic is from just after I picked him up and last 2 are from late July

Anyhow, not the best video to watch if you have raging anxiety.

Not sure I want to watch that. When I lost my last cat it took me literally a year to stop hurting over it, and 4 years before I could bring myself to get another one. I dread when the day comes when I have to say goodbye to my current cat. She is 13 now and I have a very strong bond with her.

Won't watch. Put my pup down last November and it was devastating. Its literally the only time I cried in probably 5 years...im like a stone. And I cried for days...weeks actually. Still can't look at videos oh him

Stop worrying now. Because you are going to die.

You won't exist.

There are endless cats.

Republicans do have hearts it seems.
I joke man. Hope you know that. And I feel.the same way. My old man kitty is pushing 16 and I fear it's getting close

I like a lot of your posts, but this one was pointless and callous. Anyone who says something like "there are endless cats" is simply ignorant of the bond that people form with their animals.

I just want you to enjoy life. No point in stressing about death. I don't mean to be callous. I know I will die.

So I do my best to enjoy my pets, my family, and my community.

By all means I mean no disrespect.

Anyone scared to watch it - it is worth it and does make you appreciate the little bugger that much more.

Funny story - I rent and my bedroom has carpeting and Grogu was marking all over the place so I had to ban him from the bedroom (he's doing it less and less after being neutered and lots of monitoring). Anyhow, long short on our walks I've been working on him jumping up/over various objects. The other night he went to sleep in his crate as usual - I use it to block the door but he can still hear and see me as I leave the side facing me a bit open. So somewhere between 12am and 2am he decided to get up, use the washroom (pee pad) and then hop over the crate and jump on the bed. Woke up to him curled up beside me and licking my face.

I saw an article about it, years ago. They showcased different families and had pictures of their pets (mostly dogs) passing and pics of the family crying. Sad stuff.

It is one of the problems with having pets. Dogs and cats are in the 12 to 15 year range. We always wanted a dog as children but my dad resisted. I got a dog when I was 16 but when I left home, I couldn't take the dog with because it had become my parents dog. The only time I ever saw my father cry was when the dog died. I think it was the reason he didn't want us to get a dog.

I had started thinking about getting MY OWN dog last year when the lockdowns were worse (nothing open other than grocery and gas stations) up here. I resisted because I was not sure when I'd be going back to in person work. I'd been contemplating it and made the decision to get a dog last January - looked at all options (shelter, breeder) for dogs that would do well in an apartment. Finally got him in March.

Anyhow, that worry is aways there - it extends to people in my life as well - that my time with him is limited and he'll move on at some point. I do try to keep focused on the here and now as much as possible. But every now and then that feeling hits (usually when he's sleeping).

We all die..

All we can do is trying to be a person we respect along the way..

get that shit in a spoiler TS, 90% in this thread probably have a pet or pets, we'll deal with the shit we it comes to us, its fuckin brutal, and next one is going to be the worst ever, so i myself, amd i'm sure many other pet owning sherbros, didnt want to stumble onto the 1st post.
<{nope}>

.. I won't be watching that. I had to put my dog down suddenly at the end of August. I still keep expecting her to greet me when I come home from work.

I watched. Chick liked her dog a lot.

Got three cats since moving to the country.

Trying to get them to be hunters. Right now their just semi-lounge cats.

<Kpop775>

Wife feeds them too much ground meat, so they're lazy.

Growing up I had a Siamese cat. He killed snakes, birds and all sorts of things. He fought the neighbor's cat and killed him too. He killed a kitten that my sister's friend brought over. He terrified and ambushed our dogs all the time. I pulled his tail as a toddler and he fucked me up. He tried to claw my eyes out.

Best cat ever.

That does sound like a good one.

I had semi long haired all black cat I got from a hillbilly. Named it Clyde. It acted just like a dog and would fight anything you threw it at.

Clyde got squished by a car while fighting in the street one day.

When I picked up these three new one's at the animal shelter one was all black with a big personality. Got him in honor of Clyde. The shelter already named them. Not wild about the names, Remy, the female, makes me think of porn. Nelson, and Leroy the black one. Kind've a racist name, so I just call them all cat, or peckerhead, or motherfuckers. It works, they listen.

So far all they've caught are crickets.
