The man hasn't defended the title in over half a year, and now is getting built to fight a bigger opponent at 170 lbs. I'm just thinking Conor is going to end up weighing 180+ after the fight with Nate and he's going to have to lose some muscle to be able to cut to 145 again. Now the question is can Conor do it? Can he return back to his FW division natural weight within a few months? What do you guys think?

You really think the UFC is going to strip his belt when they're accomplices in making this Nate rematch happen?

He has been fighting actively and really 6 months isn't too bad compared to some other belt holders in the past, such as Cain and GSP.

Don't worry about it. Conor will lose to Nate and then be forced to go back down and defend his belt or he will be stripped of it. That being said, after being beaten twice by a LW contender I think Conor will gladly go back down to fight Aldo again.

Yeah but it doesn't matter if he's not defending the belt & holding up a division despite being healthy... That's actually worse, it's by choice.

There is very little pressure on the UFC to do so, and the UFC certainly doesn't want their golden goose stripped. 6 months isn't shit, my god aldo went way longer than that.

He really needs to quit fucking around in other weight classes, and the UFC needs to stop letting him.

Unless Conor pops positive or gets in trouble with the law, the UFC won't strip him until they have the chance to duly spin it up and make money off of it.

It'll be after this next fight if he doesn't defend it.

    Who's he holding up?

Frankie just got beat, Mendes is banned and Aldo wants to wait until UFC at MSG which could still be a possibility for conor.

  14. Don't worry. He'll lose it within a year.

I was never on the bandwagon of "Frankie is a terrible matchup for Conor". As you saw in both the Aldo and Bendo fights, Frankie's standup not on that level really. Conor would of Tko'd Frankie imo.

It's all about the weight cut. Which is unfortunate.

This fuckin' guy is on a goddamn nine fight win streak. Only fighter to ever not get a title shot off of an eight fight win streak.

I agree with you, but you could even say the opposite.

Conor is their marketing machine. He would be hard to sell if he didn't have a title AND people know he lost to a middle-of-the-pack lightweight.

Yes, people forget nate was barely a top 20 lightweight before he smashed conor.

Meanwhile, people are complaining about woodley not fighting wonderboy, the top contender when conor has been doing this shit since he got the belt.

He had just outclassed #6 ranked Michael Johnson. Shut the fuck up, dummy.
