I still see huge racks of them at the grocery story and am amazed. Outside of me buying maybe one National Enquirer for my old aunt once a year or so, I haven't bought a magazine in probably 15 years or more.

How do they still stay in business. Does anyone here still buy them?

I also ask myself this every time I go grocery shopping.

At DIU from the Hudson News about six months ago

I used to buy Maxim until about 5 years ago. Probably right around the time I first bought an iPad.

Over a decade when I was reading MAD.

I have two subscriptions, mostly for the nostalgia and the the excitement of getting fun things in the mail.

Last one I bought from a store was probably an Official US Playstation Magazine 10ish years ago.

That grocery store magazine rack is very trippy, it is like a time capsule and transports you back 20+ years. There are like 20 fishing mags, 20 wrestling mags, 20 gun mags, 20 bodybuilding mags.... It is a real twilight zone moment here in late 2015.

It is incredible to me that these companies are cutting enough of a profit to keep printing them.

I bought one yesterday because it had Ronda on the cover.

I bought a hustler in phx like ,4 years ago. I wanted to creep out people on the plane

I still have paper National Geographic subscription. That's about the only paper media I consume.

ive had an espn the magazine subscription for about 5 years now. Ive tried twice to cancel it but got the run around and gave up. I need to just tell my credit card not accept the charge anymore when it comes back up. I litteraly grab it and throw it away without even opening it. Havent read one in years. i do use the internet insider stuff from time to time which comes with subcription, but not 50$ a year worth.

I have subscriptions for popular science, forign affairs, and the economist. When I fly I usually pick up a magazine.

Probably National Geographic several months ago.

Used to have a subscription to Rolling Stone for like 4 years back in the 90's. Maxim, FHM were the usual go to mags.

i get mags all the time i have like 10 subs to diff mags like pop sci game informer maxim etc

I don't know where you live but I'm pretty sure no store anywhere near me would have fishing or gun mags. Maybe a wrestling mag and a bodybuilding mag or two. Most magazines would be aimed at the ladies, I assume.

Edit: lol, now there is an ad for a fishing website on my screen.

Have several subscriptions - I still like hard copies to read.

I bought Guitar World about a year ago for the last time, there's no real point anymore, all the news and interviews are online.

I used to mostly get them for tabs but now I use songsterr if I can't figure it out by ear.
