His intentions are too return when his mandatory military service ends right? Does anyone have a time table on when his return fight could be? The service is a 2 year stint, so I would assume he could return to training in October of 2016, putting a return early 2017. Is this right, or could it be sooner?

I believe its mandatory 2 years so Oct 16 he should be released from duty. I don't see how it would be sooner so your early 2017 return seems accurate

Well, although I don't know the exact details of him but he is training right now. He has a more of desk job in the city hall. Due to his injuries, he is unfit to be drafted. He was cornering his students in Road FC event I believe. His service started last october so he still has about a year left.

Hopefully soon man.

Jung announced in mid-October 2014 his intention to begin his stint for mandatory military service in his home country of South Korea. While Jung did not comment about the future upon his completion, his manager indicated that he would return to mixed martial arts at the end of the two years.

He joined the South Korean military in October 2014. If he returns, would probably be at least the beginning of 2017 at the earliest. So still a while, but Jung will not turn 30 until March of 2017, so theoretically, still several years of physical prime.

The "Korean Zombie" will never return. Don't yall remember this?

"So, I've decided to give this one more shot. But, the pride I once had for fighting 'Zombie Style' has been shattered. I'm going to change. It's okay if you take away my Korean Zombie title. It's okay if everyone boos me. It's okay if no one in the world ever cheers for me again. For everyone who has supported me thus far, that I have let down... I make this promise to you that I will never fight with the same style, ever again."

Chan-Sung Jung, however, will likely be back in 2017.

Some service is a little less than 2 years. Either way we may see him late next year. Can't wait. Love his heart and fight IQ... He could get to that title fight again and be champ, but I would like to see him at 155lbs when he returns.
