A nice St.W's Tee would be a nice element for my wardrobe, or lack of one.

I spend a lot of time in the gym (KB/BJJ), but this is actually my 2nd week of lifting since high school. How do you measure how beastly your lift is? Obviously, I get happy at throwing something around that weighs more than I do, but in the scheme of things, I don't know what would be worthy of said shirt.

Possible lifts:

185 Power Clean and Jerk/Press - I did that today with not much problem. Maybe if I could break that PR for a shirt.
205x5 flat bench would be a challenge for me. I have done 195 with little problem, so maybe 225x5 is more respectable for a shirt.

My squat is ATG, but sad sad sad. And I'm too new to DL to worry about impressing anyone with it.

I can dip (below 90* elbows) with two 45's hanging from my nuts.. well, not actually from my nuts but if that was literal, I'd damn sure send it in for a shirt.

Maybe I could close a CoC2 for the shirt. Crushing an apple does look awesome but I've never tried.

BW is 175. Age 20.

2nd part of the thread, what video cameras are you guys using for your youtube vids? My comp isn't DVD-R so I guess I need to get a camcorder with a HD so I can plug it directly in via USB. I'm still confused about HD/DVD/MiniDVD camcorders and don't want to get the wrong type.

Beyond that, what brands are you liking? I want this to tape lifts for PRs, form, fights and mma training. Oh, and teh secks.

Hmm.. maybe secks for a St.W video? My ex is a 8.5 ...

Pretty much anyone can become a member and get a shirt.... But my guess is that you'll get a lot of smart-ass comments on this one.

how about money for a st. W t-shirt, and a PR on film for the right to wear it with pride.

I joined with a blacksmithing video (folded a thick ass piece of metal in 20 hits). Find something challenging and go passed what you think your limits are. That is all that is necessary. Now, the bracelet on the other hand...I'm still not worthy of that one, although I will be soon enough. Suffice to say it involves an anvil, and one hand.

Lift more weight than you ever have before. Set a PR that makes you feel great.

Then you're ready.

I bought this camera with the rechargeable batteries and 2 2gig memory cards.

http://www.amazon.com/Canon-PowerSh...2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1186633153&sr=8-1

Camera $130
batteries $20
4 gigs of memory card $20

Takes great video and sound for a small camera. I shot my vids with it.

i always hear people complaining about vids taken with a digital camera. Can you link some of your vids? it would be nice if i could get away with something like that if the quality and etc are up to par. most camcorders are still $300-600.

how do you edit, or can you? you just load it to your HD and use a basic editor like everything else?

Windows Movie Maker is the preferred program of choice for simple editing, I believe. It is a very user friendly program.

yeah WMM is the easiest and cheapest way, but it can get frustrating sometimes since it has a tendency to freeze

I have an editor/ camerawench, so I know nothing of such things. I just know that I understood the basics after 5 minutes.

Its just plugging in your camera pushing a button, going to my photos then uploading into windows movie maker or whatever the mac uses.

I was as curious as you but its doing a great job for only 130

Me just playing random songs about 3 weeks ago.

Your piano playing is very nice, but why does your hair dance so?

I want to make a vid, but I don't want to get flamed/am too lazy.

Bitch I'm from southern California. We got styles like that. Actually my fan was on.

I am very aware about the possiblilties of being flamed. And that vid shows the best sound and vid quality I had taken.

*prays that no one from the OT sees the vid*

haha, I'm in central cal. I was just messing.

Do whatever lift you feel pushes you to the limit and past. It's not about any specific lift or number ...it's about having pride in your lifts.

I use my sony camera to shoot my vids....cybershot 7.1mg pix.......i mostly dont even edit my vids....tho basic editor is fine....some people just love to add extra stuff like background music or whatever....

YouTube suggests the following, which beside the exact format, most decent digital cameras will do. The format can get changed on your computer fairly easily.

MPEG4 (Divx, Xvid) format
320x240 resolution
MP3 audio
30 frames per second

Now if you want the camera to do really cool stuff shit and be small, I would suggest either the Canon 850 IS or TX1 due to their awesome zoom, image stabilization, and quality. I got a Canon SD 900 and while I am happy with it, the zoom and lack of image stabilization aren't great. 10 MP is really more than needed, 6+ MP is all you need.

I think I remember Fatty talking about what it takes to become a member, and it's really nothing about numbers. It's all about having heart and the will to put up big lifts that are a challenge to you. Of course, they're looking for big compound lifts, not preacher curls or heavy tricep kickbacks, if there are such a thing.

But it's just a way of being part of a community who is dedicated to strength training and power lifting and staying true to what weightlifting should be all about. If you've got the right mindset and the right attitude about it, I'm convinced that they'd be willing to let you become a member. I'm actually looking to become one eventually myself. I don't think that I'm ready for myself to join either based on what I'm lifting, as I don't think some of my lifts are very impressive at all, especially for my bodyweight, and I don't have a camera, but hey, that's just more motivation for me when that day finally comes.
