Did he start striking at 30/31?

Looks pretty decent in some of the purely striking bouts he has had.

This guy is Yoel Romero's haf-brother and is a very good boxer. One can easily assume that Yoel was obviously being prepared by him with his striking.

I dunno if you're aware of this but amateur boxing is fairly popular in Cuba

Dude is Cuban and lived with a bunch of wrestlers, he probably was already used to be punched in the face and punching people, that helps a lot when learning striking.

IIRC he boxed as a kid, has always had an interest in it since, but didn't really go at it until after his wrestling career was over
