Late, late main event announcements for key upcoming PPV's (284/285 were announced well within the 2023 calendar year).

Shitting on star fighters who question the UFC's promotion - rather than trying to put a positive spin on what the UFC have been doing.

I think as the UFC, and society in general, started to come out of the COVID era (lockdowns, empty arena shows, etc.) is when he started to lose interest. The COVID pandemic provided him with a big challenge and a lot of work to keep everything running, and he had to problem solve to make sure they had enough shows to cover their ESPN deal and make that money. Now that he's came through that all clear, they're in a better position w/ ESPN and he's not really dealing with the day-to-day grind of fighters, negotiations, etc. (by all accounts, that's Hunter Campbell now), he's basically just a rich figurehead with a lot more free time to do what he wants and spend his money on.
