Do they automatically always go to the #1 contender spot? i've been watching that recently and it seems to be the case. why? I know I shouldn't care about rankings to begin with but do people see any across the board logic in this practice?

never gave it any thought . not giving it anymore

i just hope luke doesnt get an immediate rematch off that AWFUL performance

As long as the challenger is #1 contender it makes sense, close fight or if it was a dominant champ OT makes complete sense. What gets me is how once the fight is made the challenger always gains a couple ranks if no given the #1 spot for no reason

Finally the UFC is falling back into regular title shots. These immediate rematches were starting to scare me.

hendo vs. bisping for the title
weidman vs. rockhold for #1 contender

^^^not sure if i'm serious or not, but i wouldn't be disapointed!
