I used to sometimes lift almost every day.

But, my progress was not bad, but not spectacular either.

Made some adjustments, took some time off, and now that I'm back, my body basically says I workout optimally every 3rd day.

i.e. one day on, great session.

2 days off, rest and recovery.

I could go on the 2nd day (i.e. just one day off), but my body knows the session will be weaker and less productive.

I guess it's going to vary from one person to the next, and of course on some level it's going to depend on what you're training for.

    .....

    Some perspectives though;

How often do you get a pump on?

6 days a week, usually skipping the rest day. Get a good pump everyday, helps sleep too.

    Every day?

    Natty?

May I ask what you age is?

What does your routine look like? How many exercises/sets and so on?

There are a lot of variables that affect how frequently you can workout. I believe intensity has the most importance in that calculation.
I workout whenever I'm able to. Usually 4 days per week right now.
When I have the time and I'm training for something specific, it's more like 6 days.
It terms of strictly lifting, I find a 3 day full body split works best for me.

3 days a week. Full Body workout plus cardio (either HIIT Sprints or distance run). Then some stretching.
Takes 2-3 hours per day to complete.

Six days a week. Three of those are usually twice a day just for time management purposes. A do a PPL split usually, although I have also done full body high frequency workouts. I do sort of a power building style where I train the big three with powerlifting rep ranges and then bodybuilding rep ranges for accessory lifts. I incorporate lots of strongman lifts like farmer’s walks and carries and loading and stuff.

I’ll be 40 in a couple months and probably would benefit from more rest but I just like to lift and train anyways.

I train six days, actually six days a week. Five days a week, I’ll train three days a week. One of those days I will train two days of the week. So, six days a week I will be training.

It's obsession. I don't like off days, feel lazy and pent up. Working out is fun.
Completely natty, unless pre workout and forgetting to take joint tablets counts as PEDs.
38 and stronger than 20s, cardio fell off but that's from changing up body goals.

Have a self written hybrid of high paced / power lifting / plyo / calisthenics, can be in gym do a warm up, go through 8-10 lifts at 3-5 sets and jump in pool in an hour. Keep my mind interested and body exhausted but not broken.

I do Log press, snatch, power cleans, deadlifts, all the boring basic bench /squat stuff, box jumps, ring pulls ups, sand bag carry/toss, kettlebells, landmine variations, med balls, rope climbs. Never the exact same workout.

I do a full body program 3 times a week atm. Two squatting, benching and DL sessions with a few accessories, but I vary the intensity on the compounds. The last session I do mostly isolation exercises focusing on my weak points. Finish each of the sessions with an incline treadmill walk. Working out really well for me so far.

    What is your split bro?

For me it's easy. You train when you are 100% recovered. I'm doing push-pull-legs and train in an intensity that allows me to recover in 3 days.
Everything is free weights since I train at home and have limited equipment and I train a shit ton to failure.

I do cardio every day. Not always super intense but to burn off calories and be able to eat more. Walking, elliptical, biking, etc.

How do you know when your muscles are 100% recovered?
Are you considering that your nervous system also needs to recover?
