I'm curious what everyone around here goes to when they're caught in a closed guard.

Lately I've been trying the tozi with moderate success, and I've always been a fan of the lasso pass.

The classic "sleeve and lapel grip, stand up and break". Then pass open guard.

Stand, put my weight on my hands over his head and squeeze my legs so he can't sweep me, open the legs, go to half-guard, pass to side mount.

Tozi pass, Roger style.

Hands on the hips, pants or biceps, push back, combat base, then whatever.

Same here.
Always prefer breaking the closed guard by standing up.

Then once open, I have been doing x pass lately. I am taller usually so it works well.

Not sure what the name is, but the one where its:

-hands on hips + posture up
-knee in tail bone
-push back to loosen the guard
-knee slides over

Actually, now that I think about it, is this the sliding knee pass?

I have two that work well for me.

1. standard one hand on leg and one on hip grip. Waddle back, insert knee, break open and staple.

2. Two hands on a thigh, turn slightly towards said leg, use my opposite knee over top of their hip, staple then smash.

Usually this although if the other guy has really long legs I will use the "high tozi" pass.
