So basicly I got in to a fight with a relative and everything so happened so fast and next thing I know was, he was trying to stab me with a knife while threatning to kill me.

Now when our family/friends seperated us, I have been pissed and angry and venegful for getting attacked by a knife but people told me that I had both my thumps in both his eyes gouging it for about 5 seconds which is a long time and its much more dangerous.

Now time has passed and he moved on and yet I still get riled up about this situation and its a negative thought that I am trying to let go, I do so but that incident does flashback to my head a bit too much.

I agree, I have a hard time letting go of things and I have lots of negative thoughts that I need to let go.

the guy pulled a knife out on you, there's no fighting 'clean' when your life's on the line..should have kicked his nuts in while eye gauging him and biting his ear

My rule is "I'll hurt you as little as I have to in order to ensure I receive zero damage."

If they have a knife, eye gouges are on the playlist.

if he pulled a knife on you then it's fair game. But you might have PTSD

This comment brought a smile to my face thank you :)

In regards to the situation, this whole incident is over but Im having a hard time letting it go in my head. I suppose I made this thread looking for a comfort knowing that me eye gouging kind of made up for the knife attack which causes me rage when I think about it.

Did you gauge his eyes because he pulled a knife or did he pull a knife because you gauged his eyes?

    Sounds like a dysfunctional family.

I'm assuming alcohol was involved so definitely stop drinking. And if alcohol wasn't involved you might need psychological help.

Hey, so I just googled PTSD after your post to learn more and I feel like I have some of the symptoms. Funny thing is, I thought PTSD was a term for soldiers but I guess assault was on the list too.

Funny thing is, what is helping me with this situation is being around the same person that the situation went down. We don't talk really but seeing him in normal situation helps wash away the incident we had.

Anyway thanks again for mentioning PTSD since this is a good link I found:

^This. If he pulled the knife first then any form of dirty fighting or other weapon is fair game to neutralize him. If you were trying to put his eyes out first then he was justified in pulling the knife, IMO.

I went for the eyes first though, I admit that I lost my cool and things esclated pretty bad. Ofcourse, the situation has passed and he moved on but my mind is relieving the moment which is causing me great discomfort, I thought by making this thread topic, I could get comfort knowing that what I did was as bad as knife pulling but it like everyone here are saying...I have serious mental issues and based on one poster it is PTSD it seems.

No alcohol was involved but he was on coke.

well I'm glad I made you look into PTSD but be careful about self diagnosis. Stuff like this needs to be diagnosed by a professional.

Do you generally have aggression issues?

straight for the eyes. So you fight dirty huh?

Fair play, anything goes on the street, especially when you have a coked up uncle giving you shit.
