Seriously, you guys know that all he did of note in the UFC is beating Brock Lesnar in a stand up fight, right? Brock Lesnar, the same guy that people would refer to as an example of why PRIDE era fighters were wack if he fought there. He beat the worst striker in UFC elite level trying to jab him. :icon_lol: And no Overeem stuffing a single shot from Lesnar doesn't prove he could stay on his feet anyway.

I am literally baffled how people have to nerve to pick this guy as a favourite against absolute top fighters such as Cain or JDS.

His K-1 exploits do not matter since they are from a different sport and he had more luck than any fighter in the history of fighting in that tournament. I know people get their panties in a bunch if you mention the L word, but sometimes common sense has to prevail. The K-1 GP is an OPEN WEIGHT tournament and Overeem fought 2 guys who are average sized LHWs at best in MMA. His second opponent was a guy who literally couldn't throw punches with his power arm and STILL was looking better than Overeem. I am not even kidding when I say that K-1 Lesnar would beat Saki that night. Just kick his arm. Oh and his finals opponent was a 40 year old man that fought the 10 minute version of the Griffin - Bonnar fight. Schilt is a freak of nature who won the damn thing 4 times. You do the math.

So please explain to me Overoid fans, why do so many people claim Reem would beat either JDS, Cain or prime Fedor?

Reem is really, really good. He really is. The bizarre idea around here that he's just some can comes from nothing but wishful thinking.

Seriously though, he ain't THAT good. He is good but overestimated. He has numerous weaknesses. Doesn't like to get hit, isn't very durable, bad cardio, lost some of his speed as a result of roiding up, doesn't like when fighters overwhelm him. He is a guy who is most effective when things are slow paced and controlled. When his opponents are frantic, he is kind of tentative and can struggle against people he should be able to crush easily because he isn't relaxed. (Saki, Werdum, the fact that it took him several minutes to crush Lesnar)

Because Sherdog is full of dudes with homosexual tendencies frothing at the mouth over a guy who got jacked on roids -- At the end of the day the horse meat made him bigger… Not better

He'll be exposed soon enough.

He is really good. But so are a bunch of other fighters. They don't get the same kind of regard that he does. He should be considered on the level above Mir and around Cormier.

Prepare to be upset. Overgod is going to be champ.

If he manages to beat Cain, more power to him.

you'll see at superbowl weekend.

30 seconds in, he DOES beat Fedor :)

Because we've seen him fight and seen what he is capable of doing. Plus he doesn't hold back, even on children:

WAR OVEREEM

While you MMA nerds debate records and MMAth, real fight fans can actually judge a fighter by "watching them fight."

I've been a fan of Overeem for years, so I'm not just some fool jumping on his nads because I want curtain fighters to lose! But since his move to heavyweight I don't think he's lost, maybe his first fight or two! He's on a big winning streak and has the power and skill to knock anyone out. Doesn't matter what he hasn't done in the UFC, you don't just come over as a top contender and only have to win one fight twice to be the number one contender because your not good or a nobody! I'm not saying he's gonna dominate or even become champion, but he will be in the top 5 for a good while!

Steroids aside.

His standup is fantastic......and he has more submission victories than knockouts.

That proves he is a well rounded mixed martial artist.

You judge him by watching him beat up Lesnar and Todd Duffee.

Better than comparing his losses from years ago to judge him. The fact that he did so well in K-1 also does say alot , weather you think it does or not.
