Is he just going to fade away into prospect-dom? What gives? After an amazing ground performance against one of the most dangerous Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioners in the division, he shrinks to nothing on the ground today. Is this just a training and lack of focus issue, or is his talent really just limited? To me, I can see he has amazing potential. I don't understand why he's not harnessing his abilities consistently in every fight. Okami did nothing to him out there. He just did even less than nothing. Sad day for Belcher fans (me. )
Uh, he got hit by the freight train that is Yushin Okami. There's nothing he, nor any other middleweight short of Silva can do.
Yushin is legitimately probably a top 3 middleweight. He had the freak loss to Timmy, but outside of that only Anderson and Chael have topped him. 1 and 2 in the division.
Belcher is a top notch fighter nowadays and he's more legit than alot of other fighters we constantly talk up around here. Okami on the other hand is just hell to deal with.
Belcher is a legit top 10 mw. He is usually exciting and I was rooting for him tonight, but he had nothing for okami. I think most people rate him properly and you are just over-reacting as sherdog tends to do on fight night.
Here's a cookie. Okami is an excellent, world-class fighter who has the tools to make anyone look bad. Are people abandoning ship on Silva because of the Fitch fight? No. Same circumstances here, Alan is relatively young, has excellent tools to win a fight, and is still a force in the MW division.
And I was saying Okami was overrated weeks before he lost to the barbarian. Do we both get cool points for knowing things no one else knew?
