whats with all the early stoppages

i have watched this sport since i was 13 i am 33 now... its sad and almost embarrassing how early they stop these fights now. this sport used to be great... but as soon as someone falls down from any type of punch, yes jabs included now it seems eg. gomi fight its hard to take this sport serious.

The Da Silva stoppage was ridiculous. A BJJ guy gets knocked down and they call off the fight. If they did the same in the Mir v Nogueria fight the other guy wins.
