Dude was badly hurt and he just started chasing Ortega... smh

Feel bad since he had the title shot for so long but it never materialized

was odd for sure, looking at that elbow, he was prob really badly hurt after that right there, close to finished

Father Time is undefeated and catches them all I’m happy for some new blood coming through big

Frankie didn’t follow the game plan. He should have taken Ortega DOWN

I hate when people say he should have waited blah blah. I’m a huge Frankie fan and I’m glad he took the fight. Even though he lost it shows he’s a real fighter. Also he would’ve had to fight Ortega eventually anyways and would have wound up losing to him then.

ITT: Sherdoggers who would be better coaches for Edgar if they weren't so busy benching 275 while banging 10's.

You answered your own question.

He was badly hurt. In the heat of battle when your brain is scrambled, sometimes you make questionable decisions.

Hard to make the right decisions when you’re rocked.

Studied the Werdum vs Stipe video tape. Same fight, different weight class. God Damn it Frankie.

Without being inside his head...

Maybe never being KO’d in 28 previous pro fights fills a person with a sense of invincibility. He’s lost yes, but not KO’d.

General Lee thought the Army of Northern Virginia was invincible, too. Gettysburg was a slap in the face with a frozen fish, for him.

Hubris...It fits right in the 7 deadly sins as PRIDE.

But, I’m just guessing. Only he knows the deal.

Frankie was hurt badly by that elbow, he was on instinct and was trying to close distance on Ortega perhaps to tie up clinch but he was too hurt to do anything Ortega was just a killer.

Eating an elbow from hell isn't going to make anyone think rationally. Frankie was stunned and essentially on auto-pilot.

His other option was to go for a panic TD and get guillotined like Cain against Werdum.

He must've been badly hurt, he was just standing in front of Ortega trying to clinch. Compare that to the Maynard fight where he was running all over the octagon trying to recover.
