What's up with Yoel Romero acting like a K-1 Champ?

"Probably the best wrestler in MMA" didn't attempt a single takedown, got taken down every round, and looked really sloppy on the ground.

I love this guy. Doesn't even care about wrestling credentials and just wants to get on the highlight reel. He didn't even look to shoot once. I wish all wrestlers were like this :O

Because he hasn't actively wrestled in a while and probably feels confident in his stand up.

When was he taken down in the 3rd round?

He also attempted a takedown, he threw Brunson down but didn't maintain control.

He likes to use his wrestling defensively because of his heavy hands, like Chuck. Works pretty good, minus that time he got stuck in the mount. But Brunson blew his load with that.

Well he's stopping guys with his hands. He's got the Dan Henderson bug

Well 3 ufc fights 3 strikes stoppage. Can you blame him? He's 36, let him have some fun out there and dont crap your pants over it.

His TDD is terrible for such amazing wrestling creds

I guess he understands how old he is and the fast track to stardom is getting highlight reel KOs.

age. Once a grappler gets above 35 he turns into a full-time striker. Evidence is plenty, nog, werdum, romero probably will never attempt a TD now they've reached that limit.

Teh big moolah is in the KO and let's be honest here.

Dude has 3 straight.
Still he will get his butt handed to him if he faces MAchida or any top MW.

So he's just around gatekeeper level and that's where he'll stay.

He has a mild case of strikeritis, wich isn't bad as long as he isn't fighting someone who has way better standup.

I like watching him fight.

Romero knows UFC is a great battle and not a wrestling match, he has excellent wrestling still and it is no shame to get taken down by a big, strong guy that knows how to wrestle in Brunson especially when you are focused on your striking and to his credit Romero is very good at getting back to his feet.

Romero is quickly becoming one of my favorite fighters to watch in interested to see who he is matched up with nexr

Interesting but I raise you Couture.

Didn't realize how good his wrestling credentials were, just looked him up. all of his fights have ended in ko/tko (win or lose)..looking forward to see him fighting some top guys and seeing how he does with elite competition
