UFC wants Maia to fight for the title on relative short notice, Maia suggested fighting in October instead. UFC naturally freaked the F out! Just became absolutely f'n livid, and started stating what a awful employee Maia is being, and always has been.

So now they're putting out false stories about how Demian's injured as a negotiation tactic, threatening to give the title shot to Masvidal instead. On top of that if Maia doesn't accept, Dana says he'll ban brazillian jiu jitsu.
