What's the logic behind firing Chael?

He's not an active fighter, so why should it matter what he's doing to his body? Might as well fire Lorenzo while you're at it.

He had a fight scheduled when he took the test. Retiring after testing positive isn't a get out of jail free card. He made his own bed. Plus, this recent test essentially verifies that everything he said is a lie. Is that the spokesperson you want for the UFC or Fox Sports?

Because it's a bad look to have someone get busted like he did, as one of the faces bringing the UFC to the viewer.

No one has any proof of Lorenzo's potential PED use. Not that it matters, because he isn't competing.
Chael was. He's not anymore, but it still doesn't matter.

It's not a good look for the company to have a drug cheat at the forefront.
I like Chael a lot, but I can understand why the UFC and Fox have done this.

Because what he did was a big fuck you to the sport and everyone else but CHAEL.

This was as selfish as selfish gets... He should get back into politics, they definitely have a seat waiting for his unclean ass there too.

Ufc brass are juiced out of their ears no problems.
Chael pissed off the whiny haters

It's all about bad press. You can do whatever you want as long as it doesn't bring negative press.

Well Dana, FOX, and the UFC went out of their way to protect his image as much as possible. He's a big draw for the stations, and they tried to smooth everything out as much as possible. This, to me looks like Chael wasn't honest about what else he had done while the next results were pending. From UFC's perspective and probably FOX as well, they have to feel shafted and with everything they're doing to try and make the sport "Cleaner" this is the last press they need. I feel bad for Chael. I'm sure he'll end up somewhere good, but it's a shitty way to go out.. Wanderlei & Chael both had the end of their careers trashed by new testing.. Let's see how many fighters start showing up a little softer in the mid-section;)

Bellator might bring him on though:P

Because it makes your business look like a joke if you keep a guy around after failing two drug tests.

This. I wanted to believe him when he explained his first failed test. But the 2nd failed test definitely proved he was lieing.

That's it someone start an un-fire Shael petition, followed by a replace Anik with Shael at the broadcast table petition.

They didn't want to be associated with a gangster.

But really, it's a little weird to me that they cut ties with him. The UFC still has active fighters who have failed drug tests. To me that's not as bad as a guy who is now retired and an analyst.

He actually held public office before, and left the only way you should... in handcuffs.
