Saw it at the cinema with my parents
It was also heavily promoted to kids, despite being R-rated. That's another thing that's changed over the years. There were all sorts of toys and kid's menu tie-ins at fast food joints for T2. I don't even think they did that for "Wolverine and Deadpool".For those wondering 'Why was T2 rated R?' It's very clear with a few edits it could have been PG-13, like toning down the Judgement Day dream sequence, editing out the F-bombs, Arnold ripping off the flesh from his arm in front of Dyson, the few kills by the T-1000.
But they were quite sure the movie would be hugely profitable anyway. It shattered boxoffice records, and the residuals over the decades have been impressive.
So, pussying out on those details to get a PG-13 rating would have been inconsequential.
