I'm going to start training in the next couple of months. Training for knowledge and excercise, not to fight.

I like nice things. What's the best Gi you can buy? Where can I find them?

It depends what you want out of it. If you want a gi that will last a long time, it would be a double-weave. But nobody wears double weave gis everytime they practice, they are way too heavy and hot.
I don't have a Gameness gi, but everyone on these forums that has owned one seems to rate it the best or top 3 at least.

In my opinion, Koral gi's are the best. I've only owned 2 gi's. The Koral being my second. I'm more than happy with it. It's light, durable, and it looks great. Plus, Koral has a great amount of variations and colors, if that's your thing.

Gameness gets decent reviews for what I have seen, but it's too logo-heavy for my taste. Just preference.

I've heard great things about Atama, Sirius, Machado, and KF's too.

to be honest, it depends on what you are looking for. heavy, light competition, lots of patches?

I agree, what are you looking for?

and Ron, I gotta tell you, the collar on the Kieko Racca is unlike any I have ever worn or seen. Its so inflexible it feels like it is made of wood or something and is damn near impossible to choke with. Next time you are rolling and someone has one check it out. And my level for comparison is all the best as I own gameness, koral, 2 atamas an HCK I fattened myself out ouf and now the Keiko Racca gracie barra gi.

I don't know. I think you're giving their collar too much credit. It's thick, but not that thick.

In other words..

Watch yo mouth son!

Does the Keiko rub your neck when your just standing around? Some gis are starting to get to the point where the collars are so thick that they rub funny when your just standing around. I haven't used or see a Keiko Racca gracie barra gi in person yet.

My training partner has one. The collar really is insanely stiff. Good looking gi.

I was originally looking for just a really nice Gi. As in, what's the Armani of Gis? However, if it isn't practicle to wear such a Gi in practice I'll just go for most durable. I'm not planning on competing but that will depend on how the school I attend operates.

Thanks guys.

There is no armani of gi's. Each gi so far has something different about it.

In the GearWhore World.. everyone is created equal...

except mmagear.com

The best fitting gi I've ever had is the Mizuno Rickson Gracie Conquest but it's not worth the $200 asking price.

LOL I don't even like to think of MMAGEAR.com as part of this world.

I own a Atama .. gold weave i think.. but i havent worn it in about a year. I am a no gi guy :)

Collar chock that .... haha

are Gameness preshrunk?? I'm in the market for a GI as well. I'm looking for something durable, but would like something preshrunk so I don't have to be so careful about washing and drying. I want a nice gi, but money is a little bit of an issue.
