Social What's something most people won't realize will kill you in seconds?

It won't kill you in seconds, but you can become infected in seconds and without urgent treatment you will die a horrible death.

Rabies.

That was going to be my post, only a small handful of people have ever survived that didn’t receive the vaccine post bite.

exploring the titanic in a homemade sub

I truly believe he did that on purpose at least subconciously. To whatever extent his design was safe it would eventually fail if it wasn't replaced and the fucker had no plans to replace it. It feels like the whole industry knew that was going to happen.

You are correct and the ppl who survived had a very tough road to recovery since it attacks your brain and spine.

Worldwide there are roughly 59000 rabies related human deaths every year.....with only a handful of ppl ever surviving.

Umm, air conditioners don’t and can not create carbon monoxide. Not sure where you got that from. I think being sure you turn off your oven is a better tip than leaving windows open all night. Leaving your windows open isn’t really helpful at anything beyond fresh air. Its not something thats going to save your life.
Or get a $30 Carbon Monoxide detector.

Most of my equipment still doesn’t have PTO covers. Only my round baler and hay mower, since they’re new enough they came that way. Honestly I didn’t even know they existed until I was older than I like to admit. They just weren’t a thing until the 90s I think.
I’ve got an 8 year old son who is tractor crazy so I’ve made a point to have covers on mine, but I still see a lot of nekkid pto shafts around…

Electricity. Downed or exposed power lines. So many people just don’t thing twice about them
There are some very sad videos of people harmlessly walking through 4" deep puddles and freezing dead stiff instantly due to the electricity they had no idea was running through it.

it can happen easily. I was working for someone, they wanted me to know a power outlet off the wall, I asked, "is the power off?" he said "yes" but I didn't trust him so I presumed that I had the rubber handle so I'd be ok, I start banging the thing with really quick hits so that if some juice was in it, I wouldn't stay connected to it long. Sure enough, the shit blew up, I jumped maybe 6-8 feet off the ladder when it did, the guy had eyes as big as saucers.

The human is a crap design we can die from many simple things the fact that we can bleed to death is such a crap design or the necessity for air.

The corn grain asphyxiation thing is nuts.

I grew up in a rural area, lots of farms and therefore quite a few silos. I remember as a young kid my friends and I used to talk about how cool it would be to climb a silo and jump into the corn. It seems so innocent. Luckily, we never partook.

Last time I was in NYC, many years ago, I was walking back to my hotel and saw a dude on one of those taxi bicycles get absolutely blasted by a cab at an intersection. I have no idea how it didnt kill him. Taxi never even stopped. He wouldn't let anyone help him and he peddled away. This was like 2 in the morning in Time's Square
