I gave the first to Nakamura and second to Nakamura with Breese taking the third.

The Omoplata in the second swung it for me, it was hard to score it as Breese is a flexible guy but I thought it was on tight and likely did damage.

What is next for him though? Despite the set back I expect he will likely solidify himself as a top ten fighter but I don't think he will be good enough to contend for a title.

Didn't watch it all because fucking Fight Pass froze. I think it's obvious all that expectation that's building up around him probably got to him. Was surprised how easily he was taken down and controlled from what I did see.

Maybe Rick Story. But I think they'll give him one or two fights against lower ranked fighters before that happens.

Breese Vs Ellenberger or
Rukus/Bahadurzada winner

shit did Breese lose? I even watched the fight and cannot remember it at all :D

He needs to fight a ranked opponent before anybody can get excited about him and that goes for anybody.

He won the fight and then complained about his performance im all for wanting to progress and build each time but you also have to be more positive as you did get a positive outcome from the fight

Hopefully a new grappling coach. Looked like he had been rolling with James Toney, Breese got schooled on the mat.

Normally I'd agree with you but that performance deserved self criticism. He was the biggest favorite on the card and got basically owned in the grappling by a much smaller guy. He also arguably lost first 2 rounds so I'm glad he was disappointed in himself.

He won. He needs rounds inside the cage. I still think he's a good prospect. His grappling should get better just based on who he trains with.

Respect your opinion

It was kinda a lackluster fight but watchable.

It was the first fight of his I've seen and I got a pretty good laugh after seeing people on here touting him as the next big thing. That was clearly meant to be a showcase fight and he flopped big time.

His ju jitsu was solid - he was taken down to the mount several times, escaped and swept.

His wrestling was horrible.

Most of his wins in the UK amateur, semi pro and pro have come by sub. If you look at his record he's no McGregor on the feet, he only has three tko's.

The fact that he was fighting opponents who are willing to engage on the feet in the UFC can not be considered an excuse. Look at the first minute knockouts on Mcgregor's record, a real striker doesn't need long.

There were lots of shitty fights in that card and this ranks somewhere in the middle of them. He did win the fight though as stand up was not even close and he slightly won the grappling exchanges.

I'd more say that his bjj defense was solid. Yeah he avoided subs and retained guard etc, but he was woeful in the position game. Gave up mount far too easily and for the most part got schooled.

If he were facing a wrestler with GNP or a submission artist he'd likely have been finished. Appreciate your post tho good stuff.

im surprised not more people are talking about this decision. he was an 8-1 favorite, got beaten, and the judges gave it to him. i guess the anderson bisping controversy/decision just outshined it too much.

What sucks for Nakamura is he's been unlucky with decisions in the UFC before.

I think part of the reason for the lack of controversy is a lot of the MMA media said they thought Breese won.

Partly IMO, because they all predicted he would win before the fight.
